GreenerShip
Setting Sail for a Greener Future with Renewable Energy Skills for all
Description
GreenerShip – Setting Sail for a Greener Future with Renewable Energy Skills for All is an Erasmus+ KA220-VET project that aims to promote sustainable entrepreneurship and gender equality in the renewable energy sector through the development of innovative curricula and teaching tools for vocational training.
Contexte
The GreenerShip project is part of an accelerated ecological transition, where environmental, economic and social challenges intersect. It addresses three major systemic challenges, in line with European priorities in education, equality and the fight against climate change:
1. A critical skills shortage in the renewable energy sector;
2. Persistent and structural gender inequalities;
3. A need to make VET pathways more attractive and aligned with the transitions.
Faced with the growing complexity of green jobs, there is an urgent need to integrate: innovative teaching approaches (digital, immersive, interdisciplinary), tools rooted in the reality of the field, and visible, motivating and inclusive career prospects. The GreenerShip project is therefore part of an ambitious European vision: that of a fair and inclusive energy transition, driven by young people who are trained, skilled and capable of innovating in a changing labour market. It anticipates the recommendations of the Green Deal and European equality policies.
Projet

Greenership tools
Greenership education Curriculum
Result 1 – Greenership education Curriculum
The first result of the GreenerShip project is to develop a structured and innovative educational curriculum aligned with EQAVET standards, designed to train learners in key skills for the energy transition. This curriculum consists of two complementary parts. The first part comprises six technical modules covering the fundamental topics of renewable energy (solar, wind, biomass), energy efficiency, sustainable resource management and entrepreneurial skills in the green sector. These modules aim to strengthen the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to enable learners to enter a rapidly changing market. The second part offers a specific curriculum on gender equality in the renewable energy sector, through four dedicated modules. These modules will address persistent disparities (pay gaps, under-representation in technical positions), unconscious biases, and levers for promoting inclusion and diversity in green jobs. All content will be designed to be inclusive, translated into the languages of the partners, and accompanied by assessment tools, case studies, and best practices. This curriculum will form the educational backbone of the project and can be adapted to various VET contexts in Europe.
GreenerShip Toolkit
Result 2 – GreenerShip Toolkit
The second result of the GreenerShip project is the design of an educational toolkit on green entrepreneurship, designed to support the implementation of the curriculum developed in Result 1. This tool aims to provide practical tools to trainers, learners and project leaders to develop sustainable entrepreneurial activities in the renewable energy sector.
The toolkit consists of three main elements:
– A structured teaching guide including practical fact sheets, training materials, exercises, inspiring case studies and assessment grids. It will cover topics such as the creation of sustainable business models, eco-responsible communication strategies, green financing and social impact.
– A series of complementary thematic modules designed to strengthen green entrepreneurial skills (resilience, innovation, risk management, green marketing). These modules can be used in initial or continuing training and can be adapted to different levels.
– The organisation of virtual visits to green businesses in each partner country, offering concrete testimonials from entrepreneurs committed to the ecological transition. These visits will be scripted in the form of interactive capsules.
Accessible online, this toolkit will promote trainer autonomy and anchor learning in the real world. It will constitute a transferable reference resource for other sectors of the green economy.
Field testing and validation phase
Result 3 – Field testing and validation phase
The third result of the GreenerShip project consists of testing, validating and adjusting the educational tools produced during the previous phases, in particular the curriculum (technical and gender) and the green entrepreneurship toolkit. This field pilot phase is essential to ensure the effectiveness, relevance and ownership of the content by end users. An online training course will first be organised to train VET trainers in each partner country in the use of the toolkit and modules. These sessions will strengthen their methodological, pedagogical and technical skills. Pilot tests will then be carried out in the four partner countries (France, Greece, Slovenia and Denmark) with groups of learners, trainers and entrepreneurs. Each session (face-to-face or remote) will simulate the actual implementation of the modules, observe their impact on learning and gather qualitative and quantitative feedback. This work will ensure that the teaching resources are appropriate, accessible and effective, and that they can be transferred to other VET institutions in Europe.
Partners
GreenerShip partnership is composed by:
Union des Couveuses (Coordinator)
The Union of Couveuses Incubators (UCE) is the french head of a national network of business creation. UCE brings together 54 “couveuse” incubators throughout France and in the overseas departments with about a staff of 225 people.
UCE’s incubators provide group training sessions in key business skills, one-on-one advice from professional mentors, and networking opportunities to entrepreneurs setting up their own companies. The star feature of “couveuses” incubators is the crash test – the ability to test your business on the marketplace under real conditions; the entrepreneurs can start finding customers, marketing their services, invoicing and generating revenue, before launching into complicated administrative
procedures such as managing their accounts without support, or registering their business.
Each year, over 5 500 entrepreneurs are testing their activity in the couveuse incubators. 55% of these entrepreneurs concluded their crash test by successfully creating their business, having seen that the entrepreneurial lifestyle suits them. Three years after creation, 81% of these companies created are still in business, a statistic 20% higher than national averages. 20% of the entrepreneurs turn to “intrapreneurism” following their incubation period: they begin employment in roles that directly utilise new business skills acquired in the couveuse. Others return to education or engage in further training.
The entrepreneurs accompanied across the network start businesses in a wide variety of sectors: arts and culture, wellbeing, technology, social, agriculture, retail, B2B & B2C services.
The Union of couveuse incubators represents and promotes its member incubators on a national scale. It strengthens the network by holding each member to their certified quality standard centered around key services for entrepreneurs. It develops and provides access to the digital and entrepreneurial tools, resources, and legal and fiscal guidance necessary to ensure efficient, professional training across the board. It offers a range of training sessions to teach those who work at the incubators the best ways to support and mentor entrepreneurs, encourage entrepreneurial mindset, and how to manage the bookkeeping of hundreds of entrepreneurs at the same time.
They have developed a professional certificate “Entrepreneur de la T.P.E.” which gives a qualification at “Bac+2” level equivalence to entrepreneurs in training. The entrepreneur receives training in 5 key modules when undertaking this qualification: the market analysis, the organization of the project, the financial planning
and budget, the commercial strategy for marketing and distribution, and the importance of sustainable development within a community. To know more, visit: https://jetestemonentreprise.com/
